Statement from the Board Chair/Board President
As the Founder/ Executive Director of GRIP- God Raising Incredible Parents, I am  a single (divorced) mom that raised two adult sons.  Their is a need for parenting in this world. Our parents "didn't know".  GRIP will encourage parents to be spiritual leaders in their home with a lot of parenting tools that they can take home during the 11 week program.  A nurturing parent will be a better parent, which will bring a happier children in a happier home. Children will do better in school. I wish I had a class such as this to help me with power struggles, discipline, self esteem, etc.  I want to see every women/men that struggles with parenting succeed because their children need them, but they need them to be happy and whole again and that is my passion for this program.  To teach men/women how to teach their children how to thrive and survive. My heart is to decrease foster care and child neglect and abuse. We HOPE to "keep families together".
Statement from the CEO/Executive Director
This program is unique for many reasons, it is based on "keeping families together".  Our organization believes equipping parents to be the spiritual leader of their home.  It gives our mom's and dad's HOPE.  Our organization is unique because we graduate and reunite healthy happier families.  We are unique because we are one of very few Faith based parenting programs.  We are unique because our program is approved thru the court system.  Men/Women can take our class in the community, jail, or closed programs to help complete their case plan to reunit with their children.  Our program is unique because we see change in our students around week 5, we have hundreds of testimonies of their outcome.  Our program is unique because we give MOM's and Dad's hope again.  Per the Safe Children's Coalition we are helping lessen foster care.  They say we are important.  We have started structured observations and home visits with our GRIP families that have ben reunified with their children.  We HOPE for an office soon to offer extended services to our families and we HOPE for a GRIP house one day for the women who have completed our program to begin their life skills.
This is the cirriculum we use to train our facilitators in GRIP. It is a 2 day training program. It allows our facilitators to facilitate GRIP to the judicial clients that come to our classes that have been mandated to take a parenting class.  We are approved through Circuit 12 system as a parenting class.  The Founder/Executive Director is a National Trainer in the Nurturing Parent Program.  Our facilitators now can be trained by the Executive Director for GRIP.   As we add volunteers to the ministry and spread out further into the area's, we had to have complete this training.  Three years ago we paid for the instructor to come to Sarasota. In 2017 I currently have trained10 new volunteers. To date we have 18 facilitators/helpers, 11 of which are vetted.

Short Term Success
By the end of our 11th class mom's/dad's will be stronger and healthier within themselves.  They will have improved self esteem and self worth which will make a happier mom/dad and the outcome is the children will be raised in a healthy and happy setting.  Our class helps prevent children entering foster care.  We have hundreds of testimonies thanking us for providing this faith based parenting class.  Mom's/dad's have become stronger in FAITH to be the spiritual leader of their home.  They live and peace, which brings the whole family unit into a better structure of raising children the right way.
We have incorporated STRUCTURED OBSERVATION and HOME VISITS to our GRIP families that need them.
This allows us to have continued connection with them.
Long Term Success
Less foster care, less neglect and abuse to children.  85 % of the Men/Women taking our class have had their children returned to them.  Families are also learning about Faith, they are connecting to churches. Children are raising their grades in school.  This class will encourage a better foundation for children therefore, they will raise their children differently.
At the end of 2017 we stared Structured Observation with our GRIP families and home visits for those that needed extended services, we can now provide them.  The relationship is already built with us and our families.

Program Success Examples
We are frequently being called to have our classes in other locations.  As the volunteers add, we can provide more classes, currently we run 10 classes 4 times a year. Here is a testimony from one of our moms (she is 3 years sober, regained custody of her children 6 months after our class, working, has her own home, we are still connected:

I had just come through a 20 year journey of darkness thru drugs and alcohol addiction. I was also coming out of a highly abusive and violent marriage. I was terrified, alone and more than a little defensive and untrusting of people. I just knew I was lost and alone, and these were people who showed me the love of Jesus, and how to be a better parent to my children. There are truly no words for me to express the lessons I learned and the lifelong value for our family that we have taken from the experience. My children thank Linda and her team for bringing back their Mom they always deserved and wanted."
