Statement from the Board Chair/Board President
"Be a game changer." This applies not only to the actual games, but to the lives of the children i9 reaches throughout Manatee and Sarasota Counties. I started i9 Sports back in 2006 as a coach in the league for my son who was 6 years old at the time. I was immediately impassioned by what i9 Sports is all about to the families. In 2011, Angie and I founded the nonprofit association because it was clearly evident that this was about something more than just a sports league. Its about teaching our young people about life and how to live life with great character even in the face of disappointing or difficult circumstances. We teach kids every week about a different sportsmanship values that are applicable to there life both in and out of the sports arena. We reward the value winners each week with a medal to help them recognize how great it is live by the character trait they learned. Every season we are touched by the significant impact we have had in the lives of the kids, parents or sometimes entire families. Now, not only have we been able to positively impact the life of my son and the kids on my team(s) but through the help of the many coaches, parents and volunteers, we now positively impact the lives of over 3000 kids and families every year.
With the help and support of some funding we can reach families and kids including those in demographics that historically could not have participated due to the costs.
Thank you for your consideration in helping us to positively impact the lives of kids and families in Manatee and Sarasota counties.

Long Term Success "Approximately 50-60% of children quit sports by age 12, blaming lack of playing time, a dislike of the coach, too much competition and pressure and that it's no longer fun" According to Sports Illustrator. i9 Sports is providing kids a positive atmosphere focused on fun versus winning. i9 Sports helps players grow into confident and successful members of our community. We are helping kids succeed in life through sports.
Program Success Monitoring
The Listen 360 Survey is a prime example of how i9 Sports monitors our programs. Everyone that participates in our programs has the opportunity to fill out a Listen 360 Survey. These surveys report statistics and trends within our organization so that we always have our finger on the pulse of our successes and our areas for improvement.
The scoring system used by Listen 360 is unique and interesting but the important thing is to make sure the score is always improving.

Program Success Examples
Throughout each season i9 Sports provides consumers a survey through a third party program called Listen 360. The surveys provide a process to have our participating parents tell us what they think of the i9 Sports Programs. i9 Sports does this each season because we want to know if programs are doing well or if they need some extra support. We receive hundreds of responses but below are a few examples from some of our parents and coaches.
"You have a great program. You teach sportsmanship above winning and the value of team above personal success. My son has been playing for 4 years, since he was 6 years old. He has learned to practice hard and have fun. These is the most important principles for his age" Anita M.
"After several seasons of flag football and soccer coaching, it is the i9 Sports' organizational talents, weekly program execution and experienced referees that set the stage for great game play ! i9 handles the organization and establishes the rules, thereby allowing the dedicated i9 volunteer Coaches to focus fully on team building, skill development and ..... FUN for the kids." Coach Tim
"Very organized, positive people, my son is 13 and has played flag football every year since he was in first grade and I can honestly say that this program was by far the best experience he and parents have had." Cheryl V.

Strong partnerships have been built with schools in Manatee and Sarasota Counties, the Imagine School, and Montessori schools to enable disadvantaged youth to have access to after school programs and sports-related programs. The i9 Sports Association and Josh Provides work together to educate parents about their epileptic child and sports. Many parents have the mistaken impression that sports are too dangerous for their epileptic child. Sports are an important part of a child's life and most kids with epilepsy do just fine with sports.

Financials Comments
Financial Comments by Organization The financial challenges we face are balancing the number of children and families that cannot afford the sports and educational services with what we are able to provide. Yet sometimes, these are the youth who need them the most. We are spread very thin trying to help as many families as we can. The program costs limit our ability to help more youth.
