Impact Statement
2016 Accomplishments
1. Established Three New Mission Critical Committees, Community Beautification and Outdoor Art, Public Relations, Merchants.
2. Under Beautification we have become part of Keep Manatee Beautiful and now have 4 Community Cleanup Weekend Events established. 3. Under Public Relations we have upgraded our website which now offers a Daily Planner for our Village Guests and a Blog about events.
4. Under Merchants we have established a new Third Friday Artwalk.
5. The Gateway Signs were completed and are installed helping visitors locate our artist community from the main roads surrounding the Village.
6. The mural depicting Village life at 13th Ave and 9th St was completed and a beautiful scuplture outdoor art was moved from the Art Center of Manatee property to a location in the Village as part of the Public Art initiative. 
 
2017 Goals
1. Creation of exterior Maps on Village corners.
2. Update the flags on the light poles.
3. Creation of additional Outdoor Art to attract visitors
4. Work with the City to clean up the neighborhood to make it safer and more visually appealing.

Background Statement
The Village of the Arts was formed by the City of Bradenton, in conjunction with a group of local artists, as an initiative to transform a neighborhood of urban blight. The Artists Guild of Manatee, Inc. was established in 1999 as a non-profit to support these efforts and promote the community. It is a unique district with zoning to accommodate live/work/sell activities. 
 
It currently has over 50 galleries, restaurants, healing arts destinations and more. There are ArtWalk events the first Friday and Saturday of each month as well as the third Friday year round. Businesses have varied hours, some open all week. 
 
The Village of the Arts has no paid staff, relying on volunteers and Guild Members to serve on the board, to serve on committees, and to carry out the work of events and other initiatives.

Programs
Description
Involvement in ArtSlam, Farmer's Market, and other community events. VOTA tables events and provides interactive activities for community members and visitors.
 
 Support of community efforts at monthly ArtWalks. VOTA members have supported school supply drives, breast cancer awareness, blood drives, free meals from restaurants, community trick or treat events and support of individual residents.

We are partnering with other arts organizations to build a stronger role of arts, culture and heritage and a sense of place for residents and visitors.

Governance Comments by Organization In order to reach more of the community we are developed we would like to add 4 new board positions in the coming year. The community will be divided into 4 sections and one director will come from that specific session. Our goal is to extend and personalize our reach throughout the community to all the residents. To more easily identify those that are in critical need of support and aid.
