Background Statement
TANKS, Inc started in 2009 when there was a need for the cats no one seemed to want. The senior and obese, for those just no one seemed to want to adopt. We are located out of a house in Sarasota. We have recently taken in hospice cats and several have since passed on peacefully.
We take the senior cats who sit in shelters and just shut down trying to give them the time they have left to be loved and cared for.

Statement from the Board Chair/Board President
I used to volunteer at the local shelter, and I watched people just ignore the seniors. I watched the senior cats get depressed. I started adopting them one by one, gave them the love they needed. What a difference it made. Starting with 10 cats, I watched the need grow. I went to a local shelter and found Tank, a large burmese mix. He was a wonderful cat like a cinder block to pick up. He was the best foster dad to kittens. One day, I came home from work and he was just about falling in the water bowl. I rushed him to the vet, and found out he was diabetic. At the time, I had no clue. His diabetes had done damage beyond repair, and we had to put him down. I knew after that his name must go on. I knew I wanted to see how I could help make a difference in those cats who have no chance. So TANKS was born after my friend Kerry Koppin and her husband David spend an evening coming up with Tending Abandoned Needy Kats Sanctuary. TANKS, Inc was born. Over the last four years we have been helping save multiple cats and kittens and slowly but surely found them loving homes.

Short Term Success provide much needs food for rescues so they can provide better health care for pets in their care. So far a rescue we donated food to also helps a local food pantry for pets.
Long Term Success Provide food for dog and cat rescue so they can concentrate the funding they receive on medical care for the animals. Once more food comes in be able to provide more help to rescues.
Program Success Monitoring More adoptions and better quality of lives for the animals in rescue
Program Success Examples For one rescue who feed 65 dogs the donation have allowed them to provide better medical care with the funding they receive instead of spending it on food. We also pick up sheets, towels and blanket which go to insulate dog houses in the winter or to rescues to use for their animals

With today's economy, it is becoming harder for people to keep their pets. Senior pets are being dumped at high kill shelters with no chance unless TANKS, Inc helps them. We are working on finding donations of food, litter and monetary donations to keep going. We feel we are making a difference one by one until the job is done.Senior cats are the most in need and left behind or forgotten we are trying to change that.

Financials Comments
Financial Comments by Organization It is very challenging for a special needs cat rescue since we are limited on funds and donation are few and far between. We are always looking for that special donor who loves cats just like we do. We are getting the word out about TANKS,inc and what great work we are doing.
