Programs
Description The core of the program is the Concert Ensembles, in which the students are trained in the technique and artistry of music. Concert Ensembles include Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Sailor Symphone, Chamber Orchestra and Percussion Ensembles.

The Solo & Ensemble allows the students to take greater musical responsibility by learning a new music outside of the regular of the regular ensemble and becoming a larger portion of the overall music. Jazz is America's music and with the legacy of the Admirals at Sarasota High, it is important to the school and community that we continue to foster individual growth through the study of jazz literature and improvisation.

Short Term Success The band was rated excellent in their Drum Line performance at the Florida Band Association Competition this October, and Superior for the Color Guard. Last year the Color Guard went on to win State.
Long Term Success The goals of the program are to provide the inspiration and discipline of music in high school students. Concrete accomplishments can be measured in performance at certain rated band and ensemble competitions, as well as the number of public performances in which the band is invited to participate, i.e. parades and events, as well as the field trips like the London New Year's Day Parade. Giving children the opportunity to pursue their interest in music is at the basis of the program.
Program Success Monitoring Florida Band Association appointed judges evaluate the performance of the band ensembles and the marching band as a whole. The band currently consists of 70 students who are involved in the marching band, and 120 students who are involved in the music ensembles , which include the symphone, the concert band, the wind ensembles, among others.
Program Success Examples These kids perform better in school and are less likely to get in trouble outside of school. Several of the kids have gone on to higher education in their field, at some prestigious music programs.

Financials Comments
Financial Comments by Organization The challenge facing the group is the cut in funding and the economic hardship facing many of the families that make increasing dues or other options of passing off the shortfall unfeasible.  There is a deficit every year in the amount required to fund the programs and the revenue raised.  This is the principal issue facing the group.
Financial Comments by Foundation Financial information was taken from the organization's Federal 990.  Contributions include foundation and corporate support.
