Impact Statement
Care 2 Tri has taken part in over 150 races in the last seven years and teamed up with over 150 disabled athletes in 5 states. We have also created Living Beyond Me, a program in which a number of applicants are selected to work towards improving their mind, body, and spirit through physical betterment and volunteer work for the Cerebral Palsy Center.
Additionally, through our Together We ARE and Cause U Care Virtual 5k programs, we have sucessfully raised funds for local families with disabilities to meet their medical or transportation needs.
Finally, we were the focus charity for the national production of The Revolution 3 Triathlon Florida television show.
Needs Statement
In order to continue to impact differently-abled individuals, our primary need is that of funding.  Currently, our estimated costs are $5,000 per race.  We hope to add races throughout Florida, as well as Chapters,  throughout the country. Our next need is that of salaries.  We look to create  2 full-time positions, as well as, a myriad of part-time assistance for web, photography, consulting, etc. Our current estimate for these costs are $200,000 annually.  The third cost is that of equipment.  Due to wear and tear of equipment, as well as, our expansion, we will be adding equipment.  Our current estimates are in the $5,000range.
Background Statement
Currently, there is no other group that does what we do. There are a few others that pull differently-abled individuals through races, but what separates us from them is that in every race we are racing with virtual strangers. There is no other group that does this. Another distinction is that we do not classify ourselves as solely triathletes. This happens to be our avenue that we use to give back, but we encourage others to use their passions to give back as well. Also, due to the fact that we get a lot of media coverage, we use this an opportunity to educate society on differently-abled individuals.

Care2Tri began because our founder always felt as though he was an underdog and he wanted to help others that were also treated the same way. Many of the people that we have had the privilege of meeting and racing with have expressed that they are often treated as outcasts and as different. We are firm believers that all people have disabilities. However, society feels it’s ok to look differently at those with an obvious physical disability. We learned early on that the differently-abled people are in fact that, people. They have feelings and thoughts and great insight that they can share. The problem is that many people do not listen and do not take the time to get to know these people. It is our undying mission to create a sense of equality and help steer the views of mainstream society to one of acceptance and inclusion.

Statement from the Board Chair/Board President
We have grown by leaps-and-bounds since our inception.  The response from the community has been astounding.  We are very excited about this and know that as we continue to grow, we will be impacting people across the country. As with most non-profits, funding is our biggest challenge.  We have been fortunate to help two families with funding for wheelchair accessible vans in order to be able to transport their disabled children.. We enjoy being able to help our participants in getting funds for the needs that effect them and their families. We have a unique product and given the appropriate funding we will continue to impact more families.
Statement from the CEO/Executive Director
The Together We A.R.E. Program is named after Alan Rodriguez, who has defied the odds by fighting his own disability, Wilsons Disease.  Alan  is the heart of this program because of his willingness to share his photography talents for those in need.
Care 2 Tri has learned a lot from watching Alan and has decided to focus on finding individuals with disabilities who have a need and assist in raising funds and awareness for that need. We will do so primarily participating in endurance events which gives them the opportunity to gain public attention for the forum to raise funds to meet their need.

Short Term Success
The program was just initiated in 2013 and our first family that we had set up a fund raising/awareness event for was Lillie Redmon and her daughter Antionette.
She is a 15 year old with severe Cerebral Palsy. Her parents live on one income and could not afford a new wheelchair,  or a wheelchair accessible van.
Long Term Success
In the long term, we want to utilize Together we ARE in order to help the numerous medical and financial burdens that we have found that the families of those with disabilities suffer.
We believe that we can not only bring awareness by including disabled individuals in races, but we can go one step further and raise the funds to provide them with a much needed piece of DME or medical assistance.
Program Success Monitoring Success of this program will be measured by the number of specific medical needs we are able to meet. This is a new program and Antionettes event at Reunion Resorts, Kissimmee Florida  was the first. We successfully provided the wheelchair accessible van and wheelchair on 9/13/13.
Program Success Examples Although the Together we ARE is a new Program, Care 2 Tri's main event of racing with individuals with disabilities has grown from about 5 races in the Sarasota Bradenton area to 20 races state wide in 2012. For 2013 we will exceed this number and have also participated in five out of state races in PA and MI.  This program continues to make an impact on all who are in attendance and continues to receive recognition as the first group to provide such an opportunity at several of the race series that we have participated in.

Management Comments by Organization We have had a lot of success in our short existence.  We are currently working on a Strategic Plan and have a team of CEO's helping to develop this.  We understand that this is an integral part of any successful business and we will share upon completion.
Multi-Media Comments by Organization Care 2 Tri is on a mission to promote those who have been treated differently because of a disability. Please see some of our successes

We are fortunate to be able to impact the lives of these individuals, their families and all those who come in contact. We have been featured in many media stories and a national TV highlight of The Rev 3 Triathlon. We are sponsored by wonderful companies who believe in our mission such as Giant Bikes, Cliff Bar, Headsweats, Profile Design, Veloce Speedwear, Saucony Shoes, Oakley Eyewear.

We are looking forward to continuing our Together We ARE and Cause U Care Virtual 5k Programs in the upcoming years, so that we can impact a greater number of community who are in need of care or medical equipment/assistance because of their disability.

We will also launch our first Care 2 Tri R 5k in Lakewood Ranch on Nov 4,2017. The first of its kind, all inclusive race for both disabled and abled bodied participants alike.

Governance Comments by Organization We have not had any challenges with respect to governance issues.  Opportunities are strong.  We have had a lot of interest from community leaders to become involved with our non-profit, and more importantly, our board.  This is a huge opportunity to work with successful leaders who will be able to step in and join us on our mission.

Financials Comments
Financial Comments by Organization While we are well into 2016, we must say that 2015 ended well with our team meeting several of our stated goals. We were able to participate in 17 events impacting more individuals with disabilities and their families. We were excited to have met our fundraising goal for our second year of the Together We ARE program in which we were able to provide a wheelchair accessible van to a family of one of our disabled participant.  So far for 2016 , our focus is to build our organization, beginning internally.
