  2. Increase number of volunteers to assist us in reaching our goals for both fundraising and marketing efforts
  3. Expand marketing efforts to align public perception with services provided to the community.
Needs Statement
Our Foundations focus is to ensure parents are by their child's side when they are needed most. Donations in any amount are always appreciated.
  1. Families make countless trips to the hospital during the course of their child's illness. A  $25 - $50 donation would provide a gas card to ensure they can get to/from the hospital when they are needed most.
  2. Communication with healthcare providers & families are often critical & time sensitive. A $150 donation would assist in keeping  phones turned on for a month or more.
  3. Families find themselves without the funds to pay their car, rent/mortgage, utilities, groceries and other daily living expenses. We are seeking  donations of $250 to be allocated towards these cost of living needs.

The following are volunteer opportunities. While there is no monetary compensation, we promise you will find it to be rewarding & fun!

  1. We are seeking an intern or volunteer to assist with Grant Writing.
  2. Rob's Rescue Foundation is looking to bring on two outgoing, energetic & passionate individuals to partner with our core group as we embrace the next phase of foundation development & increase our fundraising efforts so that we can effectively service more families with a child undergoing treatment for cancer at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL.
  3. We are working towards creating community awareness of Childhood Cancer & the devastating emotional & financial burden to the family. We have opportunities for volunteers to be of service on committees, special projects&/or the board of directors.
Background Statement
When your child has cancer, nothing else matters. But there are still bills to pay, rent, food, utilities, clothes, travel and more expenses.

Rob's Rescue Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)3 Foundation helps remove those burdens so that the families can focus on their child's treatment. Our cause supports a wide range of families with a child being treated for cancer at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL.

The families are not only devastated emotionally, but financially. Many fall through the cracks by making too much money to get financial help, yet not enough to make ends meet during this difficult time.

We work with the Social Workers on the cancer floor to identify the needs and all payments are made on the family's behalf to help ensure they are able to be by their child's side when needed most.

The funds we provide go towards basic needs of everyday living and expenses due to the child's illness/treatment such as:
  • Phone & Utility Bills
  • Car Payments & Repairs
  • Rent or Mortgage Payments
  • Gas & Grocery Gift Cards
  • Wigs
  • Insurance Payments
  • Assist with Funeral Expenses
Rob's Rescue Foundation is proud that we have never turned anyone away and 100% of the proceeds go to help the families due to the generous support of the community and our volunteers who graciously donate their time and commitment.

Our son, Robert, was seventeen years old when he was diagnosed with leukemia. He had always been very healthy and active and he was on the varsity baseball team at Cardinal Mooney High School.
Eleven months later, on January 15, 2003, our precious son died of leukemia. During those eleven months, we witnessed how the families were devastated not only emotionally but also financially. Many fall through the cracks by making too much money to get financial help, yet not enough to make ends meet during this difficult time.
We were among the fortunate ones and by that I mean we had good insurance and owned our own business which afforded one of us the luxury to always be by Robert's side throughout his illness and treatment.
The majority of families on the cancer floor did not have the same opportunities as we did. Following Robert's passing, we started this foundation as a way to not only remember Robert, but to help those with temporary finacial needs.
Robert was always one to think of others and we know the work of the foundation would put a smile on his face.
Thank you for your support on behalf of Rob's Rescue Foundation. We know how important this financial assistance is to the families and how very much it is appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jane Haase

Statement from the Board Chair/Board President
Being asked to serve on the Board of Rob's Rescue Foundation, Inc. (RRF) is a great honor.  Having followed the Haase's family through Robert's illness, I had a chance to see firsthand the difference a little extra help could make for a family in financial distress due to their child's illness.

The services RRF provides to families helps to reduce some of the stress during this difficult time and allows them to focus on their child when needed most.

While most of us will never experience first-hand having a child diagnosed with cancer, we all know of someone with cancer and the devastation it causes.

Hearing from the Social Worker's of the financial burden families are facing in addition to their child's illess is heart wrenching. Knowing that what we do at RRF can ease their stress is my motivation to volunteer and bring about community awareness and support.

Our Foundation has no paid positions and 100% of the proceeds go towards making payments on the families behalf. I am proud of the difference we make and invite others to consider making a difference through support of Rob's Rescue Foundation, Inc.

Sincerely,
Wendy Moore
Board President

Description
The goal at Rob's Rescue Foundation, Inc., (RRF), is to relieve stress and provide temporary assistance with the cost of every day living expenses to families who have a child on the cancer floor at All Children's Hospital (ACH) in St. Petersburg, FL.

The Social Worker's on the cancer floor turn to RRF as a resource for emergency funding to assist families with bill payments for the neccessities of daily living. These families find themselves "falling through the cracks" by making too much money for traditional aid and not enough to make ends meet. The families need help to pay for their utilities, rent/mortgage, car expenses, groceries, day care for siblings and more.

RRF makes the payments on the families behalf so that they can focus on what is most important and that is their child's treatment.

Short Term Success
100% of the funds we raise go towards assisting these families. In 2013 we fulfilled requests for 69 families, paying for mortgages, car payments & repairs, cell phone bills and various other utility payments. One hundred and twenty gift cards for gas and 11 gift cards for groceries were also distributed.
Long Term Success
Since 2005, RRF has been making payments on the families behalf as requested by the Social Worker's at ACH. We are proud to say we have never denied a request.

What we are told by the Social Worker's is  that the payments we make are allowing the parents to be by their child's side when needed most and temporarily relieve some of the added stress of possibly losing a home or having their utilities cut off for non-payment.

Our founder and CEO Jane Haase learned when her son was undergoing treatment, even a teenager wants their mom by their side when they are sick.
Program Success Monitoring
Our program success is not able to be monitored by traditional scores or percentages, but rather through the feedback from the families we assist and the Social Worker's involved in their child's care plan.

The highest complement we receive is when those that we have assisted  express their gratitude and some have been inspired to start foundations in memory of their child so that more awareness of childhood cancer and assistance to those in need can be made available through community supporters.
Program Success Examples
Here is what some of our recipients and hospital personel have said: (Please note names have been withheld in accordance with HIPAA practices.)
